Here is a movie, depicting the Schwassmann - Wachmann 73/P comet. I don't know the date the video was compiled.

There is some information over at BadAstronomy.com.

Anyway, Phil the webmaster over at badastronomy claims still that the comet passed us on the 14th of may, so there could, in no way be danger. He forgets, or ommits, that the earth will pass through the tail of the comet on may 25th. I find it amazing, that over and over, the "Experts" forget that the damned thing broke apart, and has been stretching out since 1996! Since it has been in our solar system, it has become even more volitile. Heated by the sun, it has been exploding and shooting chunks in every direction. The once "stable" comet has become unpredictable.
Something I found odd at Phil's page is that he ended it with a footnote.
Quote:
Oops! I originally said it would be eight times as big, because for some reason I was thinking the radius doubled. But it really triples, and volume goes as the cube of the radius. So 3x3x3=27. That's probably big enough to see, whereas 8 times is marginal. Interestingly, I would still expect there would be at least one explosion like this per year, yet no one ever sees them! Maybe they really are hard to see, but it's hard to understand why. I'll have to look into this...
Odd, I don't see him end a post with "I'll have to look into this..." and not clearing it up.
I guess that is it. The comet has become unpredictable and no longer fits into these cut and dry science minds. (To their credit).
Anyway, read Phil's post, and compare it to the information you have read here.
1. The comet broke up in 1996, having 10 years to spread out and elongate its influence.
2. Ice is hard to see as it approches the earth.
3. FEMA is having a tsunami drill right now through the 25th of may.
4. Norad had a hyjacking drill on 9/11 clouding information and slowing the military response.
5. The Brits had a train-jacking and subway siege drill on 07/07 when the terrorist attacked in London.
6. Don't trust the Government.
7. Why not take a day and drive to the mountains? If nothing happens, have a nice day with the wife and kids.....
8. Don't trust the Government!
9. Invite a good friend to the mountains with you. They don't have to know about the comet. If nothing happens, have a beer and a laugh. If something happens, have a beer.
10 Don't trust the Government!
